Pretty Prosy Poem

"If all the world was apple pie
And all the sea was ink,
And all the trees were bread and cheese,
What would we have to drink?"

We have been reading a lot of poetry in AP Lit recently. I kind of liked this poem. Not sure why, it's kind of whimsical, but perhaps this is why I like it. Yesterday we read "The Flea" by John Donne and that was really...something else. We broke down that poem and peeled back all his fluffy language and dug our way through his metaphors only to discover that he was trying to seduce a woman using the analogy of a flea. Classy, John, classy.

Hey there. :) I hope the move went well and that your senior year is a great one for you with Quiz bowl, etc. BTW, what colleges are you applying too? Are you thinking about Vanderbilt?

My move is OK...I'm still trying to adjust I think.
I'm applying to BYU, SVU, VCU, University of Michigan, College of William and Mary...and probably Vanderbilt. I'm not sure I really want to go there. It's finally dawning on me just how expensive college is. It's almost depressing at times. I'm sure it'll all end up OK though :)
And you haven't blogged in a while! We need some updates!!
